Hands-On UniverseTM Asteroid Search: Participation Requirements

Please feel free to explore the Asteroid Search pages, however if you wish to officially join the search and submit data, the following requirements must be met.

  1. Be an HOU participating school.
  2. Have access to at least one computer with internet access. (This computer should be equivilant or better than a Pentium 100 or Power Mac with 16 MB RAM with at least 50 MB of free disk space.)
  3. Commit to collaborating with a partner school.
  4. Complete the following HOU Units
    • Intro to IP
    • Searching for Supernovae Booklet
    • Tracking the Moons of Jupiter (Located in the Measuring Size Booklet) (Optional)
  5. Complete HOU Asteroid Search Tutorials
