What should teachers do to start the Asteroid Search ?
1. Have access to at least one computer connected to the Internet. (This
computer should be equivalent or better than a Pentium 100 or Power Mac
with 16 MB RAM with at least 50 MB of free disk space.)
2. Work through the Asteroid Search Tutorials on this web site.
3. Determine when your students will be working on the Asteroid Search.
4. Determine how many students will be working with the project.
5. Find a partner school with which you can collaborate.
NOTE : It is not necessary to collaborate outside of your school. Many schools split their classes into teams of two or three students and the teams collaborate with each other. We do however recommend that you attempt to collaborate with another school in the USA or elsewhere. This can be fun and educational and all science today is accomplished through collaboration with others.
