Below is a set of small pictures of different regions on the moon. With HOU-IP you can change the way the image looks before putting together the mosaic. It may help to do the Mosaic Activity first with the greyscale pictures.

• Click on one of the small pictures below to download the image if it is not already on the computer you are using.
• In HOU-IP, use the Open command under the File menu to open the image and try some or all of the following options:
  • Use the Load Color Palette command under the File menu (or the select box on the display control bar) to choose a new color palette.
  • Adjust the Min and Max values for the display by sliding the blue and red boxes on the display control bar.
  • Try the Log option and changing the Zoom factor to a higher number on the display control bar.
• Print out your creation.
• Use your image along with others to put the mosaic together into a colorized version of the moon.
